Hello world! We're Cyndi and Allison and we are fabulous apart, but we are fierce as a duo. We're blessed in that we have had a very close relationship for as long as we can remember. Not only are we mother and daughter, but we are also best friends. We love to spend time with one another, share with one another, and learn from one another.
After being told time and time again that our relationship is an inspiration, we created The Duo Podcast in 2016. We hope to use our voices to celebrate the generational differences between mothers and daughters and cultivate closer relationships between the two, but even more than that, we hope to inspire women of different ages to uplift each other and collaborate with one another. Whether mother-daughter, sister-sister, aunt-niece, grandmother-granddaughter, or mentor-mentee, we believe that every younger woman needs a more mature friend and vice versa. At the end of the day, we all have quite a lot we can learn from each other and we hope that The Duo Podcast sparks open, honest dialogue.
I'm Cyndi and I am passionate about using my voice to tell the stories of the hundreds of men, women, and children who would otherwise not be heard. Besides being a published author, I’m also a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a friend, and, unfortunately, a widow who has had to reshape my life after losing the man that I was married to for nearly 20 years. I grew in Milledgeville, Georgia and, with a turbulent relationship with my mother, I moved out at the age of 19 and never looked back. When I had my own daughter some years later, I made it my personal goal to be not only her mother, but also her best friend, and I am excited to say that I succeeded. I believe that sharing my own personal struggles may strike a cord in someone else and lead them towards their own path to success. Whether it’s through sharing my words and creativity in my books, speaking to groups about my upbringing and perseverance, or helping mothers to create and maintain exceptional relationships with their offspring, I aim to instigate conversation and positive change. Check out my website, CyndiMathis.com to purchase my books and read my weekly mom-tips.

I'm Allison and I'm a 20-something year old Georgia native. I graduated from the University of Miami in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in public relations and psychology and I'm currently finishing up my master's degree in marriage and family therapy. Only 3 internship credits stand between me and my master's and I've been working in the counseling field for a few months now as a marriage and family therapy intern. I specialize in helping millennial individuals and couples to plan, adapt, and ultimately, flourish. When I'm not working as a therapist, I enjoy sharing my experiences as a basketball wife, fashionista, and avid world traveler on my lifestyle blog, LiveLifeWellBlog.com. Growing up, I always told my mom that my goals in life were to be well dressed, well educated, and well traveled, and she has helped me to make that a reality. LiveLifeWell is more than just a blog - it's my lifestyle, and I hope to inspire others to join the movement and become the best version of themselves they can be.
